WMBR

WMBR is a non-commercial, FCC-licensed radio station based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and operates at 88.1 FM. It is run by students, alumni, and volunteers affiliated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The station features a diverse range of programming, including music, public affairs, and specialty shows, reflecting the eclectic interests of its staff and audience. Established in 1961 as WTBS, it was renamed WMBR in 1979 after the call letters WTBS were sold to what became the TBS television network. WMBR broadcasts both locally and online, serving the greater Boston area and beyond.
