Choice 96.9 Fm

Choice 96.9 FM was a London-based radio station that launched in March 1990 as one of the UK’s first licensed urban music stations. It primarily catered to the capital's Black British community, playing genres such as R&B, hip-hop, reggae, and soul. In 2004, it was rebranded as part of the Capital Radio Group and became Choice FM, later transitioning to Capital XTRA in 2013. The rebrand led to a shift in focus toward mainstream urban and dance music. The station played a key role in promoting urban music and supporting underrepresented artists during its time as Choice FM.
